We wanted to share an important update from APMA regarding a serious threat to reimbursement for same-day E&M services.

CMS has proposed a 50% payment reduction for services reported with Modifier 25 in the Calendar Year 2027 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. This change would significantly impact patient access and the financial stability of many practices.

APMA, along with other medical specialty societies, has formed the Same Day Care Coalition to oppose this proposal. They are actively engaging with Congress, CMS, and the White House Office of Management and Budget.
