Call to Action for Modifier 25

Dear Members,

Your state association can’t advocate alone without every member’s voice.

I urge you to take action as this goes to the very core of what we do. Medicare continues to find ways to cut our deserved payments. Please see below a statement from APMA. Please click on both links and personalize your message. The first link goes directly to Dr. Oz and the second goes to our Congress.

From APMA – “Proposed Medicare payment cuts for Modifier 25 services could reduce reimbursement for podiatric physicians and make it more difficult to provide comprehensive foot and ankle care. Included in the proposed CY 2027 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) is a policy that would reduce Medicare payment by 50 percent for lower-valued services when a separately identifiable evaluation and management (E/M) service is provided on the same day as a procedure. This proposal would disproportionately affect podiatric physicians and undervalue medically necessary care.”
