The Illinois Association of Podiatric Physicians and Surgeons is deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Lowell Scott Weil, Sr., a visionary in podiatry, a trusted colleague, and a dear friend to so many in our profession.

Dr. Weil’s dedication, innovation, and compassion left an indelible mark on podiatric medicine and on the countless patients and colleagues whose lives he touched. He served as past president of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and past president of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He was also the founder of the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute.

His leadership, surgical innovation, and commitment to the profession will continue to inspire us for years to come.
