Thank you to all who signed onto the letter supporting the Diabetes Foot Health Access and Modernization Act. The final letter is now available.
This legislation strengthens and updates the HELLPP Act by improving the diabetic shoe provision, reducing administrative burdens for podiatrists and primary care providers, and allowing DPMs to attest to patient needs and prescribe and dispense diabetic shoes more efficiently.
The bill also includes a Medicaid provision that aligns podiatrists’ physician designation with Medicare.
Members are encouraged to urge their representatives in Congress to co-sponsor the bill by participating in the eAdvocacy effort.
